Welcome EVCA Kindergarten Families!
We would like to invite you to attend our Kindergarten Kick-Off on Friday, August 2nd!
This is the time for you to bring your kindergarten student in for some quick assessments of their basic academic skills. These assessments allow us to evenly place students with teachers prior to the school year starting. Please note this is not an 8:00-11:00am event; your student only needs to arrive at the time listed on the flyer that corresponds with your student’s last name. We are requesting that you stay with your student during their assessment window – please do not drop off your student.
The kick-off will take place in Independence Hall, the same location as the Kindergarten Open House Orientation that took place back on May 22nd.
Further directions to the Kick-Off location – arrive at EVCA, 110 State Hwy 344, Edgewood, at your student’s specific assessment time. Stay in the right lane (“Lane #2”) once you turn into the school, then turn right into the first parking lot. Follow the dirt road that travels around the back of the school and park in the parking lot (East Student Parking Lot), located on the east side of the school. You will then enter directly into Independence Hall through the glass doors; there will be signs on the doors so you will know you are in the correct location. Your student’s assessments should go relatively quickly as they will be set up in stations – multiple teachers, educational assistants, and our reading interventionists will be there to administer the assessment. Once your student is done, you will exit back out of Independence Hall, and follow the dirt road leading out on the north end of the school, as that road is a one way road. Follow that road until you make it to the stop sign at the end of campus.
Parents and guardians will receive a communication early in the week following Kindergarten Kick-Off with information about your student’s assigned teacher. Please make an effort to attend the Kick-Off to ensure all students are placed accordingly.
Please do not bring your student’s school supplies to this event, there will be an open house event for that. (See: Meet The Teacher)
There will be a uniform swap for Kindergarten students at the Kinder Kick-Off! While donations of new or gently used uniform pieces of any size are highly needed and appreciated, you are not required to supply uniform pieces in order to receive uniform pieces. Uniform donations can be delivered to the Front Office starting on July 29th from 8am-3:30pm.
