Mrs. Laura Tuck

Mrs. Laura Tuck

Grammar School EA

Mrs. Tuck has been an Educational Assistant at EVCA since 2018,  currently helping in 1st grade. She loves working with kids and ran a home daycare for 10 years while her children were younger. Originally from Texas, she has lived in Edgewood for the past 12 years. Her husband, Ben, is a retired Air Force veteran of 21 years. Mrs. Tuck has three children, including a son who is in upper school at EVCA.  Her other son graduated from EVCA in 2023 and joined the Air Force, and her daughter currently lives in Washington, DC where she is pursuing her graduate degree. Mrs. Tuck enjoys spending time with her family, camping, traveling, and watching her youngest son drag race.

Mrs. Olesya Urakova

Mrs. Olesya Urakova

Grammar School EA

Mrs. Urakova is excited to begin her 2nd year as a part of the EVCA community! She has witnessed the incredible reading progress her son has made at EVCA. Inspired by the rewarding experience of providing after-school care while her children were growing up, she was motivated to join the EVCA team. She has extensive experience working with children and seniors in a rehabilitation center in California. Before that, Mrs. Urakova earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Russian at the University of California, Davis.
Outside of work, Mrs. Urakova pursues many interests. She enjoys gardening and raising chickens—last year she grew 23 pumpkins, some weighing up to 7 pounds. This year, she adopted 26 chickens, which brings her immense joy. Additionally, Olesya enjoys singing with her husband and going for long walks with her family.

Ms. Vicky Vail

Ms. Vicky Vail

Philosophy Instructor

Although a New Mexico native, Miss Vail grew up close to Frankfurt, Germany, where she was blessed to spend her childhood traveling, learning languages, and getting to know other cultures. She moved back to the U.S. for her collegiate degrees and earned her BA in English and Theatre from Hannibal-LaGrange University, and her MLitt and MFA in Shakespeare and Performance from Mary Baldwin University. A couple years ago she moved back to New Mexico from the Midwest, where she has taught college English, Literature, and Theatre, and worked as a Costume Shop Manager and Costume Designer. In her free time you can find her working on creative projects, reading, journaling, or spending time in coffee shops with friends or family.

Ms. Sara Werth

Ms. Sara Werth

Fifth Grade Instructor

Years spent tutoring for the SAT/ACT and substitute teaching have prepared Miss Werth to effectively lead a classroom focused on respect, confidence, accountability, and fun. She loves doting on her old cat Boris Karloff, creating and sharing with her students meals from around the world, and creating more jewelry than one woman could possibly need in one lifetime.

Ms. Glorianna Yee

Student Services EA

Ms. Yee is an Albuquerque native. She received a classical education in high school and is excited to have the opportunity to pass on both the values and life skills that she learned in the process. When Ms. Yee is not at school, she is a scout leader and instructor. In her free time, Ms. Yee can be found reading or playing games with her family.

Mrs. Leslie Young

Mrs. Leslie Young

Performing Arts Instructor

Mrs. Young received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in music from the University of New Mexico. Besides being a wife and mother, there is nothing in the world that she loves more than teaching music. Mrs. Young is the mother of six children and grandmother of a quickly growing crop of beautiful grandchildren. Besides music, she loves painting murals and crazy colors on the walls of her house, landscaping her yard, and spending time with family.
