Mrs. Randi Davis

Mrs. Randi Davis

Second Grade Instructor

Randi Davis is a native of New Mexico and has a deep love for the Land of Enchantment. She lives in Albuquerque with her husband and their 3 wonderful children who attend EVCA. She and her family love to read, hike, camp, and wade in the Rio Grande. Randi has almost 10 years experience working with children in children’s ministry and in school. She is currently working as an educational assistant in first grade with Ms. Cruz. It brings her great joy to help students learn and grow through classical education. She looks forward to this year and the years to come at EVCA!

Mr. David Drury

Mr. David Drury

History & Literature Instructor

Mr. David P. Drury is from Staten Island, New York. After a career with the Fire Department of New York City, Mr. Drury graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York (CU) with a major in History and a minor in Education. Immediately following CU, Mr. Drury attended St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he earned his Master of Liberal Arts in August of 2009. Possessing licensure to teach in both NY and NM, Mr. Drury began a teaching job in Albuquerque, NM at Cottonwood Classical Academy, where he taught their IB High School History Class. Mr. Drury has been teaching at Estancia Valley Classical Academy since 2013 and at EVCA he has been the high school teacher of U.S. History I and II, New Mexico History, Leadership and most recently Economics. Mr. Drury has three grown sons back east in both NY and CT, and he also has four beautiful grandchildren. In his spare time Mr. Drury enjoys reading and exercise.

Mrs. Melissa Duke

Mrs. Melissa Duke

Kindergarten Instructor

Melissa Duke grew up in the wild west state of Wyoming.  She is beginning her twelfth year as a classroom teacher.  Her teaching career began in Mansfield Texas after completing her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education from New Mexico State University.  There she taught second grade for three years before moving back to New Mexico. In Los Alamos, she spent two years as a reading assistant and then taught a year of kindergarten before becoming a stay-at-home mom for her three children.  The kindergarten life drew her back to the classroom after twelve years at home. Melissa taught kindergarten in both the Santa Fe Public Schools and Moriarty-Edgewood before accepting a position at EVCA last year.   She continues to enjoy teaching this age group and looks forward to many more years in kindergarten. Melissa has been married for 27 years to her husband and best friend, Jamie, and is the proud mom of three fun and sweet kids who are all nearly grown. She enjoys any opportunity to spend time with them and is enjoying teaching at the same school where two of her children currently attend.

Mrs. Jennifer Dukes

Mrs. Jennifer Dukes

Assistant Business Manager

Jennifer Dukes came to New Mexico from Vermont at an early age. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in accounting. She spent 10 years as an office manager at a locally owned business handling all office and accounting duties before having the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom. She is married with a four-year-old shining light, two very spoiled dogs and a collection of various other animals.  She enjoys sushi, travelling, crafting, baking, and camping at Navajo Lake.

Mr. Joseph Eastman

Mr. Joseph Eastman

Mathematics Instructor

Mr. Eastman comes to EVCA as a teacher after being a substitute teacher in the Spring. He worked as an adjunct math instructor at Central New Mexico Community College for six years. Before that he worked as a Math Instructional Technician for several years at the college level. He has worked in several different fields. He has worked as a restaurant worker, elevator technician, low voltage technician, hospitality worker, mechanic and even as a pastor. He lives in the East mountains with his wife, eight kids, dogs, and various farm animals. He enjoys outdoor activities such as, hiking, fishing, hunting, and rock climbing.

Mrs. Tracey Erickson

Mrs. Tracey Erickson

Science Instructor

Mrs. Tracey Erickson earned an M.S. in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University, Houston (2000), and a B.S. in Physical Education with a Physical Therapy emphasis and an English minor from Brigham Young University, Provo (1996). After graduate school, she and her husband Jon returned to Washington State, where they were both raised. For over 15 years, she was a practicing physical therapist in hospital, skilled nursing, and outpatient settings. She homeschooled her children for 11 years, until she and her family relocated to New Mexico in 2019. Mrs. Erickson has over two decades of church service experience working with children and youth in leadership, religious and music instruction, Cub Scouts, youth summer camps, and week-day activities. A proud mother of three EVCA students and one EVCA grad, Mrs. Erickson enjoys weekly date nights with her husband, hiking and eating good food with her family, playing violin, and reading.

Mr. Brian Ferko

Mr. Brian Ferko

Science Instructor

Brian Ferko is a middle school science teacher with 13 years of experience. He has taught in Florida, West Virginia, Nevada, and now New Mexico. He has a master degree in education from Chatham university and a bachelor degree in marketing from Penn State university. One of his passions is animal training and he has worked/volunteered in zoos and animal parks with a wide variety of animals such as big cats, wolves, bears, elephants, birds of prey, and reptiles. His hobbies include travel, aviation, surfing, hiking, hockey, and working out. He is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and is a Steeler fan. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge and experience in science and the natural world with his students this year.

Mrs. Dixie Ford

Mrs. Dixie Ford

Third Grade Instructor

Mrs. Ford grew up on land homestead by her family in New Mexico in the early 1900’s as pinto bean farmers.  Later her family transitioned into cattle ranching that continues on even now.  Mrs. Ford received her BBA from the University of New Mexico in Accounting.  After college she was asked to be married by her high school and college sweetheart, Peter.  She worked in public accounting until they were blessed with their first child, Maria.  At that time, she used her accounting abilities to work in industry while caring for their daughter.  Four years later they were blessed with their son Edward.  After both children were school age, Mrs. Ford was asked to join the team at Estancia Valley Classical Academy and was able to use her love of learning and teaching children as a career.  She then received her teaching certificate from New Mexico Junior College.   Mrs. Ford loves music and spending time with her family.
