Kacie Brown has been a part of the student services team at EVCA since 2021. She is dual licensed in Special Education, as well as K-8 education. Mrs. Brown studied at ENMU for her undergraduate degree and graduated from the University of the Southwest with a master’s degree in Special Education. Mrs. Brown has taught foundational reading courses, as well as the Community Living course for four years. Beginning last school year, she took on the role of student services coordinator. She understands that student success looks different for each student,  Mrs. Brown  is married, and has three students of her own at EVCA. Mrs. Brown enjoys traveling with her family, live music, fishing and spending time outdoors.

Mrs. Bryson was a teacher for many years, and she has taught nearly every grade from kindergarten through 12th grade. She thinks there is nothing like seeing the “lightbulb” moment when students understand a hard concept! Now she enjoys supporting teachers and students as an administrator, and she is committed to supporting the mission of EVCA.  Mrs. Bryson holds a Master’s Degree from the University of New Mexico, and she is a native New Mexican. She and her husband have an adult son and daughter. When she has free time, she enjoys playing piano and singing for her church’s praise band. However, most of her time is spent at school, helping her husband run his remodeling business, or playing with her dogs.

Mrs. Buck grew up watching Bob Ross on PBS and has loved art in all its forms for as long as she can remember. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with her BA in Architecture. Her first job out of college involved granting funding and inspecting battered women’s shelters throughout the state of New Mexico for the NMFA. Although fulfilling, this work lacked a creative outlet which ultimately led to Mrs. Buck starting her own business. She has had the opportunity to work as an independent designer, a product consultant and is a published
product marketing designer for various companies in the paper crafting industry. However, her greatest joy and a constant source of opportunity for growth remains her family; her husband, Travis, and five children. Mrs. Buck loves sharing her passion for art and hopes to have many “happy accidents” while working with her students in the classroom.

Mrs. Caton is happy to welcome another new year being a member of the EVCA! She was born and raised locally, moved away to Albuquerque for a few years before returning to the east mountains one handsome husband and two beautiful children richer. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education, a degree in Pre-Health Sciences with a concentration in Exercise Science, and her license in Massage Therapy. Together with her husband they own and operate Kilos & Company; a gym located in Cedar Crest. There, Jocelyn also gives sports/injury specific massage to gym clients, when she isn’t working at EVCA or going on house calls as a Massage Therapist. She manages to squeeze in time for her hobbies of weightlifting, reading, and cross-stitching. Even in her very busy life, quality time with her family is her daily priority that she treasures above anything else.

Therese holds a dual Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education from Grand Canyon University, as well as a Master’s degree in Special Education from ENMU. Before stepping into her current role in the Special Education Department at Estancia Valley Classical Academy (EVCA), she served the school as a substitute teacher for grades K-12 and a Special Education Educational Assistant. During this time, she fell deeply in love with classical education and her calling to teach the classical curriculum. Outside of school, Therese and her family are founding members of a non-profit organization that built and funds a tuition-free school and orphan home in Uganda. Married to her husband, Doug, for over three decades, Therese has four children, seven grandchildren, and a deep love for reading U.S. and World history.

Mrs. Cordova received a bachelor’s degree in Sign Language Interpreting and Communication from the University of New Mexico. Working as a sign language interpreter in the classroom setting for six years, helped make the decision to return to school and get a Masters in Special education to become a teacher. She is dual licensed in special education and general education K-8. This is her 10th year teaching and third year teaching at EVCA. She enjoys teaching and hopes her students find a love for learning and a thirst for knowledge. She is also a mother of three children.

Ms. Cruz is very excited to continue teaching first grade. She has been working at EVCA since 2014. She earned her B.A. in business administration from Anderson School of Management. Fueled by her love for children she returned to school to become a teacher. She has two wonderful children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, spending time outdoors, scrapbooking, and attending functions at her church.

Mr. Daugherty begins his 5^th year teaching upper school history at Estancia Valley Classical Academy this year. Mr. Daugherty has a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Religious Studies from the University of New Mexico, a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Education from Western New Mexico University and will receive his Masters in the Art of Teaching with a specialization in history this year. Donnie is happy to see all the remarkable achievements the learning community of EVCA has achieved over the years and looks forward to the new year.

Randi Davis is a native New Mexican who loves the Land of Enchantment. She started at EVCA in 2020 as an EA and in 2023 earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University. Mrs. Davis is dedicated to learning about and growing in the Classical tradition and cares deeply about her students. She has been married to her husband since 2011, and all three of her kids attend EVCA.

Jennifer Dukes came to New Mexico from Vermont at an early age. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in accounting. She spent 10 years as an office manager at a locally owned business handling all office and accounting duties before having the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom. She is married with a eight-year-old shining light, two very spoiled dogs and a collection of various other animals.  She enjoys sushi, travelling, crafting, baking, and camping at Navajo Lake.
