Mrs. Garrett has been working at EVCA since 2021 as an Educational Assistant in the Student Services department. She has loved working with our amazing students and being part of the EVCA team ever since. Mrs. Garrett and her husband Zachary enjoy all things nerdy such as Harry Potter, Magic The Gathering, or playing video games together. In her spare time she also enjoys to crochet, attend festivals/conventions, work on crafts, and spend time with friends.

Mrs. Adelman has been involved in classical education for over 20 years in various
capacities. She has taught Latin, Informal Logic, Formal Logic, Rhetoric, English
Literature, History, and Theology. She has also written and published supplemental
Latin curriculum for Classical Academic Press. Though she has not lived in New Mexico
her entire life, she grew up in Angel Fire and considers New Mexico her home. She
graduated from the University of New Mexico “sometime in the past” with a B.B.A. in
Marketing Management. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, camping, snow skiing,
and spending time with her family. Mrs. Adelman resides in Tijeras with her husband
Rob. They have three grown and married daughters and one grandbaby.

Cheryl Anderson is beginning her 12th year at EVCA; having taught kindergarten for a year and 2nd grade for 8 years. She transitioned to part time work three years ago, working as a K-2 reading interventionist. She has over 30 years of experience teaching in public and private schools as well as homeschooling her own children. She and her husband havelived in the East Mountains for 30 years. She enjoys hiking, reading and crafts.

Stacy is a wife, a mother of two children, as well as a grandmother to two
grandchildren that currently attend EVCA. She lives in Edgewood and loves
the local community. She wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Stacy
previously worked in healthcare for several years with a passion for education.
During her last three years in healthcare, she worked in the education
department. This led her to the new chapter in her life of working at EVCA.
Stacy started working as a substitute teacher at EVCA which then led her to
her to an educational assistant position, and now a kindergarten teaching
position. She is very excited for this teaching position in a field that she is
passionate about and wants to further grow in. She loves being outside,
spending time with her family and playing with her dogs. Stacy’s hobbies
include camping, gardening, reading, as well as going to a good movie!

Mr. Barker graduated from Moriarty High School then served in the United States Army. Once out of the Army he Joined the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office where he served as a law enforcement officer for twenty six years. Mr. Barker is excited and honored to be able to serve the students, parents and staff of EVCA by providing a safe and secure learning environment.

Mr. Beard earned his B.S. in HPERD (Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance), with a minor in Biology, from Cameron University, Oklahoma. Mr. Beard’s leadership experiences include coaching gymnastics, soccer, football, baseball, softball, teaching science, physical education, special education, cub scout den leader, boy scout assistant scoutmaster, merit badge counselor, several non-profit board positions, teaching religious education, confirmation classes, youth group and being Grande Knight. He loves fly fishing and the outdoors.

Bonnie Beukelman is a passionate K–12 Performing Arts educator who believes in the power of creativity, wellness, and connection. A Texas native who spent 15 years teaching and growing in Oklahoma, she now calls Edgewood, New Mexico home. Bonnie holds a B.S. in Church Music and Bible from Dallas Christian College and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in blended learning from Oklahoma Christian University. Licensed in K–12 Performing Arts with endorsements in Physical Education and Health, she blends structure and inspiration to help students discover their voices, build confidence, and grow both artistically and personally. Her skills extend beyond the classroom—whether she’s troubleshooting sound equipment, planning road trips in her van conversion, or exploring new places, Bonnie brings curiosity, care, and hands-on problem-solving to everything she does. Her guiding philosophy in musical education is simple yet profound: teach students to love making music first.

Mrs. Bocock has been an Educational Assistant at EVCA for many years and has been assigned to many locations, including art and grammar school classrooms. Mrs. Bocock married her high school sweetheart they have two children, a son Hayden who graduated from EVCA in 2021 and a daughter Tesslynn who will graduate from EVCA in 2025. She loved being a stay-at-home mom for 14 years before beginning her journey here at EVCA. Mrs. Bocock loves to go camping, riding horses and 4 wheelers with her family.

Mr. Broughton is a New Mexico native. Born in Farmington and graduating from Belen High School before joining the Navy. In the Navy, Mr. Broughton served on submarines as a Nuclear Power Plant Operator and Electrician. Mr. Broughton met and married his wife in ’05/’06 while teaching future power plant operators. Mr. Broughton left the Navy and joined the Army to serve as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician and then on to fly Apache attack helicopters. Mr. Broughton served 23 years combined in the military branches before retiring in 2022 to then begin studying to teach social studies. He graduated in 2025 from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Secondary Education and is also certified to teach Driver’s Education. Mr. Broughton has been working as a substitute teacher at EVCA since 2023.
